Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is ready for his side’s crucial Champions League encounter with CSKA Moscow on Wednesday.
Man United go into the game on the back of a fantastic 3-0 victory away at Everton in the Premier League in one of their best performances since Louis van Gaal took over at the club.
The display at Goodison Park has surely buoyed the United players as they face a difficult week ahead. After the trip to the Russian capital, United welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford on Sunday. The clash with City might affect van Gaal’s team selection against Moscow as he might have one eye on the derby.

Schweinsteiger got through 75 minutes at Everton and United fans will be hoping the slight rest he was allowed will help him recover in time for Moscow. Van Gaal and his men are lucky to have their three games in the space of eight days as spaced out as possible and that could be crucial going into the derby.
The manager will have to make a call on whether Schweinsteiger, in particular, has a part to play against CSKA. Despite his efficient performance at Goodison Park, the 31-year-old may be held back in order to be fully fit by the time City make the trip across town on Sunday.
It will certainly be interesting to see if van Gaal makes wholesale changes to the side that beat Everton, as it will give fans a real insight into his priorities this season. It is one of those weeks where having a big squad will definitely benefit United as they look to move to the top of their group in Europe and top of the league at home.
