Meanwhile, Ashley Young is back in training but he will not be available for the clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
It is a big boost for van Gaal, who will need as many players as possible fit and raring to go if Man United are to secure a positive result in the derby.
Manchester City have had no such luck with injuries, as the likes of Sergio Aguero and David Silva are set to miss out.

Although City have a number of players such as Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne who can influence the game, Aguero and Silva’s absences will undoubtedly be felt.
United couldn’t be much more better placed for the fixture and they won’t have too many excuses if they fail to earn three points against the ‘noisy neighbours’. A win against City would go a long way to laying down an early marker in the Premier League title race.
