Antonio Valencia hobbled straight down the tunnel after suffering an injury late on against Manchester City.
The midfielder signalled straight to the bench when he felt a problem and was unable to continue, so Matteo Darmian replaced him for the final few minutes in the derby.
Valencia put in a very good performance against City from the right-back spot. Up against Raheem Sterling, the Ecuadorian was solid in defence and was actually one of United’s better players going forward as well.
United fans are under no illusion that Darmian is our first choice right-back but another injury on the list is the last thing Louis van Gaal will want to see.
We’ll bring you an update on Valencia’s injury as soon as there is an official update from the club but we’re hoping it’s nothing more than precautionary.
