Real Madrid will offer Keylor Navas a new contract which will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2020, according to Marca.
Navas was set to be included in the deal which sent Manchester United’s David de Gea to Madrid this summer but the move broke down due to late paperwork.
The Costa Rican has responded with some superb displays this term as his side sit top of La Liga with 21 points from their opening nine games.
Madrid were said to be still interested in De Gea but Marca claim that Navas will be offered an improved deal.
It is a complicated situation but giving Navas a new contract could end Madrid’s pursuit of De Gea.
The news would be welcomed by United supporters as De Gea has also been superb over the course of the campaign. However, Madrid are notorious for wanting star names regardless of form and the matter shouldn’t be considered closed just yet.
