Luke Shaw has stepped up his recovery from a double leg fracture by making use of Manchester United’s state-of-the-art physiotherapy facilities, according to Goal.

Shaw suffered a double leg break in the 2-1 defeat against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League earlier this term.

Physios at Man United have been impressed with Shaw’s progress and they have invited him back to the club in order to step up his recovery.

The 21-year-old visited Carrington three times last week to use United’s hydrotherapy pool, which allows him to perform a number of exercises while under the watchful eye of cameras which monitor his movement.

Shaw also made use of the aquatic treadmill at the club, which allows him to prevent wastage of his leg muscles by working them while reducing weight-bearing pressure on his lower limbs.

It is important for Shaw not to rush in his recovery but the early signs have all been promising for the left-back. He was in superb form prior to his injury and United supporters will want to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.
