Felipe Anderson’s representatives deny exit rumours amid Manchester United links

Representatives of Manchester United target Felipe Anderson have denied that the forward is seeking a move away from Lazio.

The midfielder was linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer but a move never materialised, even though certain sources claimed that a deal had already been done.

Anderson stayed at Lazio past the end of the transfer window and it now seems as if he will be there for some time to come.

The Brazilian’s representatives have denied that there was ever any agreement in place for the player to join Man United or any other club and that he will be staying at Lazio.

“Contrary to reports, Felipe Anderson has not agreed a deal to leave Lazio and join anyone else,” Anderson’s representatives told ESPN.

“Felipe is doing well at Lazio and is only focused on doing his best for them.”

There may not be a need for another attacking player to be brought to the club, especially given the encouraging signs shown by the likes of Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard.

United fans love seeing youth being brought through the ranks and signing Anderson could be an indication that the club are looking to import players rather than develop them themselves. Supporters could even be happy to hear that the move does not look like it will be going through and can instead look forward to seeing a large number of promising academy graduates make their way into the first-team.
