Manchester United’s Memphis Depay joins up with Holland squad

Manchester United forward Memphis Depay has joined up with the Holland squad ahead of their games against Wales and Germany during the international break.

Holland will not feature at Euro 2016 after a 3-2 defeat to the Czech Republic last time out meant they were knocked out at the qualifying stage.

It’s the first time they have failed to qualify for a major tournament since they missed the World Cup in 2002.

Memphis himself has struggled to find his form at Man United in recent weeks as the likes of Jesse Lingard continue to keep him out of the starting XI.

Memphis arrived at United this summer with much fanfare following some impressive displays for PSV Eindhoven but he has so far failed to live up to his promise at Old Trafford.

However, Louis van Gaal will be fully aware that the youngster needs time if he is to succeed at the club. Memphis is far from the finished product and he will need the backing of his manager and fans.
