Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger has arrived in Munich for International duty

Bastian Schweinsteiger was welcomed back to Germany for their upcoming internationals during the next two weeks.

The German captain will face off against Manchester United team-mates Morgan Schneiderlin and Anthony Martial in a friendly with France before playing Netherlands, where Memphis Depay and Daley Blind could be in action.

Schweinsteiger will always be revered as a hero back in Germany for what he did with Bayern Munich and his national team, having steered them to World Cup glory in 2014, and he probably misses being there seeing as he spent his whole career in Bavaria.

It was during the international break earlier this season where Schweinsteiger really turned his fitness around by playing two consecutive matches that allowed him to really get match fit, so here’s hoping he can have an equally as positive international break.

Slowly but surely, Schweinsteiger’s influence as a Man United player is growing and with a hectic Christmas fixture list coming up, something Bastian won’t have experienced before, Louis van Gaal will want him as fit as possible.
