Louis Saha agrees with Paul Scholes’ ‘boring’ comments but insists Manchester United are in transition

Louis Saha has become the latest former Manchester United player to label the current side’s style of football as boring.

Man United have put in some limp attacking displays in recent weeks but they beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 last weekend.

Last month, Paul Scholes criticised Louis van Gaal for the football being played at United, insisting that former boss Sir Alex Ferguson would not have “adhered” to the style of play.

Saha agreed with the claims but insisted the side are going through a transition period.

“I think the comment is fair,” he said when asked whether United are boring.

“Sometimes when you look back over the years try and compare some styles, like Paul Scholes was not really happy with it. With Giggsy on the left and Ronaldo, those players were really exciting players with a lot of experience, so now it is a transition period for Manchester, so everyone has to accept that.”

United have been far from perfect this term but Saha is right in saying that it will take time for everything to click at the club. Van Gaal has brought a number of young players in and they will need time before they are to realise their potential.
