Liverpool have entered the race to sign rumoured Manchester United target Lucas Biglia, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Biglia, who currently plays for Lazio, has impressed in Rome and was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer.
There have been rumours that he remains a target for the January transfer window but Liverpool have thrown their hat into the ring for his signature.
Real Madrid are also said to be monitoring the situation, with Lazio indicating that an offer of £21m could tempt them into selling Biglia.
The player himself is open to a move to a bigger club, but only if he is guaranteed playing time.
Biglia is a talented midfielder but United have a number of options in the position following the acquisitions of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Perhaps Louis van Gaal would be wise to prioritise strengthening other areas of his squad first.
