Daley Blind: Manchester United must play at a higher tempo against PSV Eindhoven

Daley Blind has urged Manchester United to play at a higher tempo against PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Man United head into the clash knowing that a win would see them through to the next stage of the Champions League.

In the reverse fixture, PSV secured a 2-1 win over United thanks to goals from Hector Moreno and Luciano Narsingh. Blind insisted United need to improve their finishing if they are to secure a positive result against the Dutch outfit.

“It’s an amazing atmosphere and Champions League nights are always different – It’s an amazing feeling,” Blind said.

“The most important lesson for us is that we have to play the ball quicker and at a much higher tempo. We created chances there but we didn’t finish them. We really want to take the three points and we have to prepare ourselves to our utmost best.”

United have been criticised for some poor football from an offensive point of view at points this season and Blind is right in saying that they will need to fly out of the traps on Wednesday. Three points is crucial and Blind will likely play a part in the clash after Phil Jones picked up an injury against Watford last weekend.
