Anthony Martial’s display against Leicester City frustrates Manchester United fans

Anthony Martial had a mixed bag as Manchester United drew 1-1 with Leicester City on Saturday.

The Frenchman played up top alongside Wayne Rooney as Louis van Gaal switched to a 3-5-2 formation against the Foxes.

However, Martial struggled to combine with Rooney and Juan Mata, who was playing in the No.10 role, although he did show some moments of quality. The performance was a frustrating one for Man United supporters:

Expectations for Martial skyrocketed following his superb start to life at United but it appears as if he is now coming back down to earth.

The youngster will no doubt be a fantastic player in years to come, and his blip in form was always going to happen, but United have pinned a lot of their hopes on Martial and he is now under expectation to deliver.

Van Gaal doesn’t have too many options at his disposal after letting James Wilson go on loan to Brighton and Martial will need to get back to his free flowing best if they are to be successful this term.
