Victor Valdes‘ partner Yolana Cardona has slammed Manchester United’s treatment of him this season after the latest in a long string of snubs at the club.
The goalkeeper wasn’t invited to Man United’s annual UNICEF charity dinner event at Old Trafford and she certainly wasn’t happy at that.
Yolanda criticised the decision to not invite Valdes and said it’s the ‘last thing’ you expect from a club as big as Man United.
No invitar a mi marido @vicvaldes1 a la gala #united4unicef , es lo ultimo que esperaba de un club tan grande como el @manchesterunited "Un Acto Benefico, siempre es un acto Benefico" Do not invite to my husband @vicvaldes1 to be part of the #united4unicef , its the last thing you don't expect from one of the biggest club as @manchesterunited "A Charity event, its always a Charity event"
While I do agree that this embarrassing situation has had some questionable decisions, both from Louis van Gaal in how he has handled it and Valdes himself in how he’s gone about it, him being absent from the UNICEF dinner seems to have a logical explanation.
The first-team players were in attendance but, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see any academy players there and Valdes is now considered an academy player by van Gaal.
Personally, I just can’t wait for Valdes to leave the club so we can put this whole saga to bed because it’s ugly and isn’t bringing anything positive to United at all.
