Neymar Snr ‘sure’ Brazilian will stay at Barcelona amid Manchester United rumours

Neymar’s father has insisted he is “sure” that his son will renew his contract with Barcelona amid rumoured interest from Manchester United.

The Brazilian has been in sparkling form this season and he was recently named on the three-man shortlist for the Ballon D’or award alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, there have been concerns that he will not stay at Barcelona due to tax issues in Spain. Neymar’s father dismissed the rumours and insisted his son will remain at the Nou Camp.

“Stay calm, I’m sure Neymar will renew. There is no hurry. He still has three years on his contract,” Neymar Snr said.

Man United should always be targeting the best players in world football but it was always unlikely that Neymar would leave Barcelona for Old Trafford.

The forward is currently a vital part of arguably one of the greatest strike forces the game has ever seen with Messi and Luis Suarez, and Barcelona consistently challenge for the highest honours. United, on the other hand, are a team trying to find their identity. It appears that Louis van Gaal will have to look elsewhere for targets.
