Chris Smalling, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Jesse Lingard have been nominated for Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for November.

The trio were in good form during the month, with all of them contributing to United’s unbeaten run over the period.

Smalling was particularly impressive in the 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow at the start of November, producing a vital goal-line clearance with the score level.

Schweinsteiger, meanwhile, forced a late winner against Watford when his effort was helped over the line by Troy Deeney. He then scored his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw against Leicester City.

Finally, Lingard made the breakthrough into the United first-team and impressed with some livewire displays.

The 22-year-old scored his first competitive goal for United in the 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion and set up Wayne Rooney’s winner against CSKA. While United haven’t been impressive as a whole, the trio deserve credit for their displays and it should be a tightly contested vote.
