Manchester United travel to Wolfsburg ahead of Champions League fixture

Manchester United travelled out this morning to Wolfsburg ahead of Tuesday night’s crucial UEFA Champions League game.

Louis van Gaal‘s side are heading to Germany knowing that a win is needed to secure a place in the knock-out stages and dependent on PSV Eindhoven’s result against CSKA Moscow, a draw might not be enough to qualify.

After another two 0-0 draws in succession, Man United are continuing to struggle in front of goal but simply have to score against Wolfsburg to keep their fate in their own hands.

It’s effectively knock-out football as far as United are concerned. They shouldn’t even be thinking about PSV’s game with CSKA because only one thing is important – beating Wolfsburg. If we can do that, then the pressures will ease and we can head into the game against Bournemouth full of confidence again.

On the other hand, if we crash out of the Champions League against Wolfsburg then there are going to be some serious questions asked and van Gaal will come under a lot of scrutiny for how he’s got United playing at the moment.
