From Germany: Manchester United’s reported team vs Wolfsburg in Bild

Manchester United’s team selection tonight is going to be a very tough one for Louis van Gaal against Wolfsburg.

With so many injuries, it’s likely to be somewhat makeshift and German newspaper Bild (as reported by Sport Witness) feel Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard would both start tonight.

One major decision is who to start at right-back – Guillermo Varela or Matteo Darmian, and they’ve gone for the former. The 22-year-old only made his Man United debut against West Ham at the weekend, so throwing him into this game would be a huge decision by van Gaal.

Whatever the starting XI is tonight, the players have to be under no illusion as to how important the match is – we need to win. It’s effectively knock-out football already for United because anything but a win and we risk getting knocked out by PSV Eindhoven, depending on their result against CSKA Moscow.

It’s going to be a very nervous affair to United fans. We haven’t been playing well at all in front of goal and that’s simply got to change tonight, it has to change. If we don’t score, there’s a high chance we’re going into the Europa League.
