The Manchester United defender underwent surgery on a dislocated shoulder this week after suffering the injury in training recently.
Having previously dislocated the same shoulder last year against Manchester City, the decision was taken for Rojo to undergo surgery in order to provide a long-term fix to the problem rather than risk it happening again.
For Manchester United, it would be another terrible piece of injury news. Luke Shaw is already out for the season with a double leg break and Rojo was supposed to replace him, so Louis van Gaal will have to find another replacement left-back if he is indeed out for two months.
This may force van Gaal to bring in a temporary left-back during the January transfer window. It’s either that or he turns to the likes of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson as his solution.
Injuries, injuries, injuries. At the start of the season we had very few problems in terms of injuries but as we head towards 2016, our depleted squad is being stretched to its limits and it doesn’t look like it will be getting any easier.
