Arda Turan’s agent has revealed that Manchester United made an offer for the Turkish midfielder last season.
Arda was linked with a move to Man United and Chelsea for a number of months before the start of the campaign but he eventually moved to Barcelona, despite them serving a transfer ban.
The 28-year-old’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, revealed that Atletico Madrid did not want to sell Arda to United last term.
“Last season Manchester United made a bid for Arda but Atletico Madrid did not want him to leave,” Bulut said.
“I was in talks with Barcelona but told nobody about it at the time.”
Arda will not be available to play for Barcelona until January due to the transfer ban.
He is a fantastic player and he could have played for United right away but you can’t blame him for wanting to play with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez despite the fact it has cost him six months of his career. Louis van Gaal is reportedly looking at the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Sadio Mane ahead of the January transfer window as he looks to get United’s season back on track.
