Manchester United: De Gea; Young, Jones, Smalling, Blind; Carrick, Fellaini; Memphis, Mata, Martial; Rooney

Subs: Romero, Borthwick-Jackson, McNair, Varela, Schneiderlin, Pereira, Herrera

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has made four changes to his side for the Premier League clash against Norwich City this afternoon.

Wayne Rooney, who is making his 500th appearance for the club, and Chris Smalling return to the side following injury, while Ashley Young is also included having missed out the last few weeks. Phil Jones is the other change.

Ander Herrera, meanwhile, is only fit enough to make the substitute’s bench as he has been out of action for almost a month.

His absence from the XI, along with Morgan Schneiderlin’s, means Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini line up in the middle of the pitch.

Man United are without a win in their last five matches in all competitions while Norwich have only been victorious in one of their last 11 outings. Van Gaal is under huge pressure at Old Trafford and anything less than three points against the Canaries would see it reach fever pitch.
