Daley Blind has insisted that spirits are high at Manchester United despite the team’s poor form in recent weeks.
Louis van Gaal has faced scrutiny at Old Trafford following Man United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages and a 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth last week.
There have been suggestions that the squad are not happy with the Dutchman’s management style but Blind rubbished the reports.
“There’s a very positive atmosphere despite the result, because everyone wants to give everything,” Blind said.
“The work ethic is very high, everyone wants to run every inch for each other – it’s great to see and we just need to show it on the pitch now.”
United seem as if they are trying hard to dispel rumours of disharmony within the squad as David de Gea also echoed Blind’s sentiments earlier this week.
Ashley Young is said to be among those unhappy at United after failing to make the starting XI against Bournemouth. Something isn’t quite right at the club and it seems as if van Gaal is the source of the discontent. If results do not improve then United may have to make a difficult decision in the summer.
