Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes the Premier League will be welcoming “the best coach in the world” if Pep Guardiola makes the move to England next summer.
Guardiola recently announced his decision to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the campaign, to be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.
The Spaniard has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal, with City said to be front-runners for his signature. Klopp hailed Guardiola and said that his arrival would make the league more difficult.
“If this rumour is as well-tuned as all the other transfer rumours here then Pep will go somewhere else completely,” Klopp joked.
“But if it really happens, then in comes perhaps the best coach in the world. That would make it that bit harder for all the other teams.”
Guardiola has enjoyed continued success at the very highest level and he is known for a brand of exciting, attacking football.
United would be wise to do al they can to bring him to Old Trafford, with Louis van Gaal under immense pressure at the club. Guardiola may have already made his mind up to join City but it would be disastrous if United did not at least try and convince him to move to the red half of Manchester.
