Manchester United are prepared to meet Lazio’s €45m asking price for Felipe Anderson as they look to bolster their attack in the January transfer window, according to La Repubblica.
Man United have been linked with Anderson for a number of months and they reportedly made an enquiry for him in the summer.
Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez is said to be United’s first-choice target but the Spanish club have ruled out an exit.
Louis van Gaal has instead turned to Anderson, who has scored five goals in 21 appearances in all competitions this term.
The Brazilian is 22 years old and would fit United’s profile of bringing in exciting youngsters with potential.
United played out a goalless draw with Chelsea last time out and it is clear that the side is in desperate need of some attacking impetus. Anderson may be the solution to the problem but it would be a big ask for him to adapt to the Premier League midway through the campaign.
