Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has ruled out a move to Real Madrid, according to Diario Sport.
Mourinho was recently sacked by Chelsea following a disastrous start to the campaign for the London club.
The Portuguese is favourite to succeed Louis van Gaal at Manchester United should the under fire Dutchman be sacked.
It appears as if Mourinho is holding out for the Man United job as he isn’t said to be keen on a return to Real Madrid, who he managed between 2010 and 2013.
Rafael Benitez is currently under pressure at the Bernabeu and Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly on the lookout for alternatives.
Mourinho scarfs were being sold at Old Trafford prior to Man United’s 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Monday and some sections of the club’s support have chanted his name during recent games.
His reputation took a hit at Chelsea this term, with his off-field antics in particular coming in for criticism. However, you cannot argue with his track record of winning trophies. Mourinho is a proven, world-class manager and one that United shouldn’t miss out on as van Gaal does not look like the right man to take the club forward.
