Gary Neville’s Valencia drew 2-2 with Real Madrid in an enthralling game at the Mestalla on Sunday night.
It was end-to-end action for both sides and after watching so much mundane football at Manchester United this season, it genuinely felt good to be seeing such an exciting game.
Both Phil and Gary were in the dugout against Rafael Benitez and they’ll be proud of the draw, not simply because of the result but because of the performance. It was the first time I had watched Valencia play since Neville took over and after a slow start they really got into it.
Although Gary might not see his long-term future in management, he’s had a pretty solid start out in Valencia. Here’s some photos of the Neville’s in the dugout during the 2-2 draw against Madrid.
