Thrilling draw between Valencia and Real Madrid excites Man United fans

One thing which Manchester United fans have been starved off for the overwhelming majority of this season is exciting football.

So, Valencia’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Real Madrid on Sunday evening was enough to get the blood pumping with Gary and Phil Neville managing from the sidelines.

There was late goals, a red card and end-to-end action which saw both teams have chances to win it within the last 30 seconds of the game. We’ve hardly seen that sort of excitement at Old Trafford all season.

Methodical football is now Old Trafford’s diet. The full fat excitement of fast-flowing action has been replaced by a game of strategy and risk elimination, far from the thrills of what was on show in the Mestalla Stadium between Valencia and Madrid.

As they say, the grass is always greener on the other side but it was hard not to get a little bit nostalgic at watching a side managed by Neville play some great attacking football in a 4-4-2 formation wasn’t it?
