Manchester United target Sofiane Boufal ‘99% certain’ to stay at Lille

Rumoured Manchester United target Sofiane Boufal will not be allowed to leave Lille in the January transfer window, according to the Guardian.

Boufal is also said to be interesting Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City following some impressive displays in Ligue 1 this term.

However, Lille are reluctant to sell their prize asset, who has scored five goals this season, mid-campaign despite their ongoing financial difficulties.

Boufal is reportedly ’99% certain’ to stay at Lille this month but the French club will be much more open to selling him this summer after slapping a €25m price tag on him.

Louis van Gaal has often spoke of his desire to add “speed and creativity” to his Man United side and Boufal, who has been compared to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard would fit the bill.

Unfortunately, United look like they are finding it difficult to lure targets in January, with the likes of Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez also against the idea of leaving mid-term.

It is a frustrating situation as United have been awful going forward at points this season but it is good that the club are targeting the right players. It remains to be seen if they land any of them this month.
