Watford forward Odion Ighalo has admitted that he would find it hard to turn down a move to Manchester United.
Ighalo has been in sensational form for the Hornets this season, scoring 14 goals during the first half of the campaign.
Atletico Madrid and Roma are said to be interested in Ighalo but the player conceded it would be a “dream” to play for Man United.
“There has been speculation from Spain and Italy but I’ve played there and now want to play in England,” he said.
“I don’t think I will be moving but I’m not sure I’d say no if United called. They were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV. They were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream.”
United’s struggles up top this season have been well documented and Ighalo would be an interesting signing if the club did decide to pursue him.
If he did end up at Old Trafford, it is good to hear that he would give his all for the team. However, Ighalo has been central to Watford’s success this term and it is unlikely that they would let him leave mid-season unless a ridiculous fee is involved. If Ighalo keeps up his form towards the end of the campaign, United may well be in the hunt for him this summer.
