Ashley Young was back in training this week ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.
Young was forced off in the second half of Man United’s 2-1 win over Swansea City last time out after picking up an injury.
There were fears for the 30-year-old has been one of United’s better performers as of late but Louis van Gaal insisted he was only suffering from cramp. Young looked in good shape as he trained at United’s Carrington training ground:
Young was superb against Swansea defensively and offensively as he ran up and down United’s right flank.
He eventually set up Anthony Martial’s opening goal with an inch perfect cross from out wide.
Young will likely start against Sheffield United as defeat against the Blades would be disastrous for United and Louis van Gaal. He has had to adapt to an unusual role at right-back in recent weeks and his attitude has been excellent.
