Manchester United ready to test Everton’s resolve with Romelu Lukaku bid – report

Manchester United are planning to test Everton’s resolve with a bid for Romelu Lukaku, according to the Mirror.

Lukaku has scored 19 goals in all competitions so far this term including 12 in his last 12 games.

Man United had Lukaku on their radar in the summer but Louis van Gaal decided against making a bid for the Belgian.

United know that they will likely be unsuccessful in a bid for Lukaku this month but they will go back in for him as part of a spending spree next summer. Gareth Bale, Sadio Mane and Harry Kane are also said to be targets for the club.

Everton have shown that they are willing to dig in when it comes to the future of their players as they reportedly rejected a £30m bid from Chelsea for John Stones in the summer.

If United really are in for Lukaku, the chances are that Everton will be equally as determined to keep one of their prize assets. That being said, United have looked short of ideas going forward this term and Lukaku would go a long way towards solving that problem.
