James Nesbitt asks Cristiano Ronaldo to come back to Manchester United at Ballon d’Or event

by Sam Peoples

James Nesbitt is probably closer to bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United than Ed Woodward is after he asked him on stage at the Ballon d’Or.

Nesbitt, who was co-hosting alongside Kate Abdo, got straight to the point: “Please, come back to Manchester United!”

Ronaldo’s response? Just a smirk, nothing more, but fair play to Nesbitt for asking him on stage as I’m presuming that wasn’t in the script!

Every single year United are linked with a move to Ronaldo and the summer stories have already begun in earnest after The Telegraph said the Portuguese forward was expected to leave Madrid after this season.

Will he stay or will he go? Of course only God knows but fully expect Ronald to once again give some very non-committal comments about his future and for fans to get giddy about a potential return all over again.
