Predicted XI: Newcastle United vs Manchester United

by Sam Peoples

David de Gea Keep a clean sheet please Dave, we need it.

Matteo Darmian Hope he starts at right-back. As good as he has been covering at left-back, he needs to be playing in his natural position.

Chris Smalling Should hopefully not be too busy but maybe the same Newcastle that showed up at Old Trafford will turn up again.

Daley Blind Want to see him start at centre-back.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson Was good in parts against Sheffield United but needs to look up more before playing his final ball.

Michael Carrick An injury to Bastian Schweinsteiger and questions over Morgan Schneiderlin‘s fitness means Carrick is a sure thing to start.

Marouane Fellaini I really don’t want him to play there but I can see Fellaini starting in central midfield.

Ander Herrera This is his time to shine in the advanced central midfield role.

Jesse Lingard – He’s got his fitness back and we need direct pace on the wings.

Wayne Rooney Will start as the lone striker in this formation.

Anthony Martial – United will be looking to Martial to sprinkle the magic dust as we have all season.

Formation: 4-3-3 – Go big or go home. It’s time for van Gaal to release the shackles and play in a 4-3-3 formation which this team is crying out for.
