Man United had a number of opportunities to kill the game off at St James Park but the likes of Jesse Lingard, Wayne Rooney and Marouane Fellaini all missed good chances as Paul Dummett’s late strike earned a point for the Magpies.
It was a frustrating result and one that United could have done without ahead of the match against Liverpool on Sunday. Schneiderlin insisted his side will “keep on fighting”.
Gutted not to get the 3 points we worked hard for, we will keep on fighting #MUFC

United supporters have been craving entertaining football all season long but they may change their tune after the result against Newcastle.
Van Gaal’s side attacked with much more verve and creativity but they were leaky at the back and Newcastle, a side who are battling relegation, carved them open on a number of occasions.
Dummett’s last gasp goal came as a bitter blow but the players will have to dust themselves down ahead of the match against Liverpool. It will be a tough test at Anfield and three points is vital if United are to get their Premier League campaign back on track.
