Manchester United send scouts to watch Walsall’s Rico Henry – report

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United are one of a number of Premier League clubs who have scouted Walsall left-back Rico Henry, according to the Daily Mail.

Representatives from Man United were in the stands to watch Henry as his side played out a 1-1 draw against Coventry on Tuesday night.

Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Watford also had scouts watching the 18-year-old.

Championship outfit Burnley, however, have firmed up their interest and are reportedly preparing a bid.

It seems as if United are making an effort to add some talented youngsters to their ranks, with the club also set to bring in 16-year-old Italian Luca Ercolani.

Louis van Gaal has received criticism at United this season and rightly so, but you cannot say that he has neglected the youth side of things at the club. The likes of Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard have had chances in the first-team this term and players such as James Weir have made the step up to the squad.
