Louis van Gaal not ruling out Victor Valdes exit in January

Louis van Gaal has not ruled out Victor Valdes leaving Manchester United in January but says it is up to him whether he does leave.

Valdes has been a ghost at Man United this season ever since his fallout with van Gaal tainted their relationship.

The Spanish goalkeeper hasn’t even trained with the first-team, he has instead been forced to train at different times with the younger age groups.

Despite the fact it is effectively pointless him being at the club, his exit is still yet to happen and isn’t guaranteed to be in January.

“It’s not up to me to answer that question,” he said.

“You will have to ask Victor Valdes.”

He should have left in the summer but a move to Besiktas in Turkey broke down over personal terms and he has instead simply trained with United and enjoyed a healthy pay packet with no chance of playing for the first-team.

It’s a complete waste of United’s money and Valdes’ time for him to be at the club so the sooner he leaves the better and if that can happen in January, then it is the best option for all parties.

To be honest, the whole Valdes situation has been a total embarrassment for United in terms of how it has been handled by van Gaal, so I’ll be happy to see the back of him and move on from it.
