Manchester United willing to let Andreas Pereira leave on loan

Manchester United are willing to let Andreas Pereira leave the club on loan but only to the right sort of team.

The Daily Mail reports that although Louis van Gaal has been impressed by Pereira’s performances this season, he’s happy to let him go because he knows how important regular game time is at that age.

They go on to say Leicester City’s interest is unwanted from United because they are considered UEFA Champions League rivals.

What do we make of these reports? To me, it’s certainly not in United’s best interest to let Pereira leave on loan. We’re far from spoilt for options in attack this season, so the last thing we should be considering is letting one of those players leave the club in January.

However, it could be argued a loan move would be the right thing for Pereira and his career if he secured a loan to a club where he got plenty of game time.

The idea of weakening our attacking options in the squad at a time where we are finding it so hard to score goals seems a ridiculous one and this potential move reminds me of the Adnan Januzaj one at the start of the season, where I felt he shouldn’t have left.

We should be selfish and hold on to Pereira if the club interests are put first for the time being but I thought that about Januzaj and look how that worked out.
