Player Ratings: Liverpool 0-1 Manchester United

by Sam Peoples

David de GeaClean sheet at Anfield says it all. Anything Liverpool pumped at us, he sent back with interest.

Ashley Young 5 Went off injured so might be a bit harsh.

Chris Smalling 6.5 Liverpool did have too much attacking threat but in the grand scheme of things we won.

Daley Blind 6.5 Same as Smalling.

Matteo DarmianLeft far too much space behind him in defence by playing tight in the first half. Lucky that Liverpool didn’t punish us.

Morgan SchneiderlinBig fan of Schneiderlin and always will be. Adds so much to our midfield.

Marouane FellainiAgain, he was woeful. Giving him the extra point as his header led to Wayne Rooney‘s goal.

Jesse LingardGot to be harsh here because Lingard was very poor. Offered little to nothing in attack.

Ander HerreraHe was pretty awful today, the polar opposite to how he was against Newcastle in the same position.

Anthony Martial 6.5 Again, was our biggest threat in attack. Kept getting doubled up on by Liverpool’s defence though.

Wayne RooneyHe scored the winner at Anfield. End of discussion.

Substitutions

Cameron Borthwick-JacksonThought he actually played pretty well in what must have been a huge game mentally for him.

Juan MataDidn’t really impact the game when he came on.

Memphis DepayAdded more pace in attack.
