Liam Grimshaw has admitted he is looking forward to moving on from Manchester United after joining Preston North End this week for an undisclosed fee.
Grimshaw signed a two and a half year deal at Preston, keeping him at Deepdale until at least the summer of 2018.
He recently underwent a minor operation which will rule him out of action for the next few weeks but Grimshaw insisted he is looking forward to kickstarting his career.
“I have been at Manchester United a long time, but I am ready to move on and make a career for myself,” he said.
“This is a chance to get my career going. It is great to be back home in Lancashire and I am looking to get settled and start to kick on with my career.”
Grimshaw spent time on loan at Motherwell earlier this season and it is good that he will be able to get regular first-team minutes on the pitch at Preston.
The 20-year-old was always going to find it difficult to break through at Old Trafford, although the likes of Andreas Pereira and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have been promoted as of late. We wish him all the best of luck at Preston and United supporters will watch how his career develops with interest.
