Reports have once again surfaced in Italy suggesting AC Milan are extremely interested in signing Marouane Fellaini.
Following on from reports last week which said Milan had identified Fellaini as a January target, CalcioMercato.it say Milan boss Adriano Galliani will meet with Man United officials this week to discuss a potential move for the Belgian.
Initial approaches for a loan were rebuffed by United but if Milan can meet a valuation of €25m, then there is every chance they could sign Fellaini.
While I stand by my original statement that it would seem quite foolish to release Fellaini and not bring in a replacement, Andreas Pereira‘s continued excellent performances for United’s U21s suggests we have plenty to promote from within and wouldn’t miss too much if he were to leave.
The only reason Louis van Gaal has been forced to play Fellaini every game in recent weeks was the injury problems in central midfield. That should never have led to Fellaini playing there but it did and we’ve seen how bad an idea that is with his performances.
Despite that, CalcioMercato.it certainly suggests AC Milan are very interested in Fellaini and if Galliani does fly to Manchester to discuss a move with United, could the big Belgian really be leaving Old Trafford in January?
