Madrid were recently hit with a transfer ban which will prevent them from registering players in the next two transfer windows.
However, they are planning to appeal, meaning the ban could be delayed. This had led to suggestions that Madrid could go all out for De Gea next summer but the Spaniard has assured United that he is not considering a move back to his homeland.
De Gea was close to a move to Madrid last year but a deal collapsed on the final day of the transfer window due to late paperwork.
It was a frustrating situation for De Gea but he has responded brilliantly, putting in a number of world-class performances in-between the sticks for United.
If true, it is a huge boost for United that De Gea wants to stay for the long-term. Great teams are built on top quality keepers and United certainly have one of the best.
