Victor Valdes thanks Manchester United fans for support amid exit rumours

Manchester United’s Victor Valdes has thanked fans for their support amid rumours he is set to join Standard Liege on loan.

Valdes joined Man United in the January transfer window last year but he has only made two first team appearances having been frozen out by Louis van Gaal.

The pair reportedly suffered a breakdown in their relationship when Valdes refused to play for United’s U21 side last term.

Valdes is said to have been denied a dressing room locker and threatened with a fine if he mingled with the first team.

The Spaniard has now been offered an escape route out of United by Liege and it looks like his tweet is a goodbye to supporters.

Valdes is rightly regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of modern times having won a number of trophies with Barcelona and it has been disappointing to see him suffer such a miserable time at United. The hope is that he moves on from the club to get regular minutes on the pitch sooner rather than later.
