Manchester United’s squad vs Southampton: Adnan Januzaj included

by Sam Peoples

Louis van Gaal has included Adnan Januzaj in Manchester United’s match-day squad to face Southampton this weekend.

The Belgian midfielder wasn’t deemed fit enough to be back in the squad which faced Anfield last week but having put in an extremely impressive performance for Man United’s U21s, van Gaal has deemed him ready for action.

Ashley Young‘s injury means Januzaj has an immediate chance to come back into the team but he will face competition from the likes of Andreas Pereira and Memphis Depay for game time.

Other than Januzaj’s inclusion, United’s full squad is as you would expect it to be. There are no other surprise players who have been named,

Here is the United squad in full (via Manchester Evening News): De Gea, Romero, Varela, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, McNair, Borthwick-Jackson, Herrera, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Pereira, Mata, Januzaj, Memphis, Lingard, Rooney, Martial

We’ll have the confirmed starting XI as soon as it published on Saturday afternoon an hour before kick-off.
