Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, according to Calciomercato.
Morata was instrumental for Juventus as they won the domestic double and reached the Champions League final last season.
However, the Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order at the Old Lady this term behind Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala.
Man United manager Louis van Gaal is said to be keen on bolstering his strikeforce, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani also linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Liverpool are also reportedly keen on Morata, who would cost £45m.
Morata is a quality player and he would be a solid addition if he was to join United. Van Gaal only really has Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial as his options up top and Morata would give the side a different dimension. That being said, it will be difficult to convince Juventus to let go of one of their prize assets, particularly in the January transfer window.
