Adnan Januzaj returned to first-team training this week for Manchester United and is in line to face Southampton at the weekend.
The Belgian midfielder scored two goals for Man United’s U21s in his first game since coming back from an unsuccessful Borussia Dortmund loan and Louis van Gaal has said he’s now available to play for the senior team.
It’s been a season to forget so far for Januzaj. He was shipped out on loan by van Gaal but never really got an opportunity out at Dortmund, so much so that United cancelled the deal and re-called him.
Fans are desperate to see Januzaj fulfil the potential which earned him the No.11 shirt after Ryan Giggs retired but we’re yet to see him replicate the sort of form he showed in his breakthrough season.
Now he’s back at the club, Januzaj has another chance and one which he should be relishing. When he is thrown into the team by van Gaal, he’s got to make sure he makes the most of it because if he doesn’t, Pereira is waiting in the wings to take it.
