Photo confirmation: Adnan Januzaj in squad to face Southampton

Adnan Januzaj checked into the Lowry Hotel in Manchester tonight with his team-mates which confirms his inclusion in the match-day squad to face Southampton.

Fellow youngsters Guillermo Varela, Andreas Pereira, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Paddy McNair and Jesse Lingard have all been named in the squad as well.

With injuries limiting Louis van Gaal‘s options due to having a small squad, he’s forced to use a lot of youngsters.

I don’t expect Januzaj to be in the starting XI against Southampton but he’s an excellent option to have from the bench. Although, I am unsure I’d choose him ahead of Pereira at the moment because Andreas really deserves his opportunity before Adnan gets one.

That being said, I’m happy to have Januzaj back at the club. His loan spell at Borussia Dortmund was always a recipe for disaster and that proved to be the case with zero starts in the Bundesliga and less than 700 minutes overall playing time.

This is a big opportunity for Adnan and one which he has to take. He wasn’t supposed to get another chance this season but he’s got one. I hope for his sake that he can make the most of it.
