Manchester United have confirmed Victor Valdes has joined Standard Liege on loan until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old is expected to be at Standard Liege’s game against Gent tonight in the Belgian League and will likely go straight into the team for their next match.
A statement on the official ManUtd.com website said: “Manchester United and Standard Liege have reached agreement for the temporary transfer of goalkeeper Victor Valdes, effective until the end of the current season.”

Valdes should be a great signing for Standard Liege if he can re-find the sort of form which made him one of the world’s best goalkeepers back in his prime at Barcelona. He’s certainly one of the biggest names in the Belgian league now.
From Man United’s perspective, we can now finally put to bed the Valdes debacle and move on, although our football is hardly anything fans want to be concentrating on right now is it!
