Manchester United scouts watch Georges-Kévin N’Koudou in action

Manchester United sent scouts to watch Marseille’s 1-1 draw with Lyon on Sunday night and according to The Guardian it was Georges-Kévin N’Koudou who they were watching.

N’Koudou, 20, is firmly in the spotlight of multiple clubs having contributed to more goals than any player under the age of 21 in Europe’s top five leagues so far this season, with eight goals and four assists.

That’s a cracking return for a player of his age and The Guardian says both West Ham and Liverpool scouts also saw him in action, indicating there is plenty of interest in him.

The last time United signed a relatively unknown player, as far as English fans are concerned, from the French League was Anthony Martial from AS Monaco and that worked out pretty well. Could N’Doukou be another one of those signings which is under the radar and prove to be a shrewd move? Of course, but we’ll see how this story develops and whether our interest is followed up.

Bringing in youngsters and allowing them to grow at Old Trafford has been how we’ve had some of our best players over the years, so maybe N’Doukou could be another one of those gems in the future.
