French journalist Julien Laurens has sarcastically thanked Louis van Gaal for forcing Angel di Maria out of Manchester United.
The Argentinian has gone on to have an excellent impact with PSG having scored or assisted 17 goals in 16 games so far for the French champions and they are in total cruise control in Ligue 1.
At the start of his Unite career, Di Maria was utterly brilliant but he tailed off into nothingness before creeping off to PSG in the shadows and it’s a move which has certainly worked out for him.

Let’s get one thing straight Julien – Di Maria treated United as badly as he was treated.
Yes there were times when he could have been played yet was overlooked but that hardly justifies him literally not turning up for pre-season and going AWOL does it? Not to mention his inability to overcome his house being burgled, almost like it was a convenient excuse for all his woes in England.
I was excited when we signed Di Maria (who wasn’t?) but it just didn’t work out. Judging by the way things are going with van Gaal right now, I do think it’s fair to attribute some of that to him but to say it was just because of the way he treated Di Maria is a bit of an oversight.
