Gareth Bale put off £100m Manchester United move amid uncertainty at Old Trafford – report

Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale has been put off a move to Manchester United following the turmoil at the club, according to the Independent.

Man United made a £100m offer for Bale in the summer and the Welshman seriously considered a move but Madrid eventually turned it down.

United are said to be preparing another bid next summer but Bale has been put off amid uncertainty over Louis van Gaal’s position at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal reportedly offered to resign for the third time following the 1-0 defeat against Southampton last weekend and there doesn’t seem to be a coherent strategy at the club. Madrid’s recent transfer ban has also complicated matters.

Can you blame Bale? For one of the biggest clubs in the world, United are run horribly. Money has been wasted, figures within the club are at loggerheads and performances on the pitch have been, to put it mildly, uninspiring.

Until United organise themselves in terms of the management and playing style, they cannot expect transfer targets to take them seriously.
