Louis van Gaal has no intention of quitting Manchester United – report

Louis van Gaal has told close friends that he has no intention of quitting as manager of Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.

Van Gaal is under huge pressure at Man United having overseen a string of poor performances.

There were widespread reports this week that the Dutchman offered to resign following the 1-0 loss against Southampton last time out but that Ed Woodward talked him out of it.

However, van Gaal has told those close to him he has no intention of quitting having returned from a mini-holiday in Holland and that he is now preparing to strengthen the squad ahead of the FA Cup clash against Derby on Friday.

There have been conflicting reports over van Gaal’s position at United but it is clear that something is going on behind the scenes.

It seems to be a matter of when, not if, van Gaal leaves the club, despite the public defiance coming out of United. You get the sense that defeat against Derby would well and truly seal van Gaal’s fate.
